Ideas of Politeness across Cultures

Ideas of Politeness across Cultures

This course looks at different ideas of politeness, and how these ideas may lead us to react and form opinions of colleagues etc. that are not ‘fair’. And the opposite is also true. This course is designed to help build more successful business relationships by understanding how being polite is perceived across cultures.

be polite

What is it?

What we consider to be ‘polite’ is an individual perception shaped by our own cultural backgrounds. But what we consider to be ‘polite’ is not necessarily universal, and different perceptions and behaviours can create issues in multicultural teams. Learn the importance of politeness across cultures.

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is aimed at employees at all levels and from all cultural backgrounds who are working in a multicultural environment.

What our clients say:

“I would recommend this course to everyone, who is interested in other persons, their behavior and in the way people act together. To be honest: A lot of topics in this course are not new! But everybody has to be aware of cultural differences and the impact on everybody’s behavior. So it is very helpful to be reminded about these intercultural experiences!”
