FAQ's

This course is described as an on-demand course. What exactly does that entail?

The course is an on-demand, self-paced course. This means that there are no ‘live’ classes with a trainer, but rather that we have already recorded the training content via video and organised the content into modules. Trainees can access the course and learn from any device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, laptop, PC) at any time that suits them.

As a learner, what will the course be like? (e.g. learning resources, course structure, assessment)

There are 21 microlearning modules. Each module has one or two videos followed by an assessment to evaluate your understanding of the learnings from the videos. Learners must pass each test (80%) to move on to the next module. For each module, you will also be able to download a summary of the content covered in the module.

For how long will a learner have access to the course?

We usually limit the course access to 6 months so that learners have ample time to complete the modules. This can be altered upon request should there be a requirement to do so.

Will learners receive a certificate after completing the course?

Yes, a certificate of achievement will be issued to the trainee upon course completion of the course.

What is the duration of the course?

The 21 modules on the course are covered in microlearning videos that come to a total of 2.5 hours. On average it will take a learner approximately 3.5 hours to complete the course (watch the lessons and complete the tests associated with each module). However, as this is an on-demand/self-paced course, the learner can study on the course for any length of time each time they access the course e.g. some learners may do 10 minutes a day for a couple of weeks while others may do an hour one day and 20 minutes the next. Therefore, some learners complete the course within just a few days of being enrolled while others study on the course over a longer period.

Is this course suitable for learners with beginners level English?

It is important that those enrolled on this course have some ability to communicate in English (e.g. it is not recommended for absolute beginners, however, those who can communicate even a bit with limited overall English will already benefit from this course).

Each video includes English subtitles so that learners can both listen to the trainer as well as read the subtitles when necessary.

What level of English should learners on this course have?

This course is recommended for learners of English who fall within the following levels: ‘high beginner’ to ‘low intermediate’ or levels from A1 to B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR level guidelines available here).

Is this course eligible for CPD points?

Upon successful completion, participants are awarded a certificate which details the commitment involved. This allows HR departments to make a determination as to the allocation of CPD points for successful completion of our courses, according to their own internal CPD systems.

AllTalk Training is not on the National Framework of Qualifications as a credit bearing course. This is standard practice for professional courses of this nature where the need is for fresh and actionable skills (in a shorter form course) that are demonstrated immediately in the workplace.
