Podcast Episode: ‘Building Empathy and Understanding in Multicultural Team Environments’
In February 2020, I was kindly invited by Shauna Moran of Operate Remote to join her on an episode of her insightful podcast series, The Human Behind the Screen.
In ‘Building Empathy and Understanding in Multi-cultural Team Environments’ (Feb. 7th, 2020) I gave my response to questions such as ‘What can we, native speakers of English, do to ensure non-native speakers are given an equal voice?’ Speaking the same language – usually English – is not, in itself, a solution.
With Shauna, I specifically talk about how we can reduce inefficiencies and improve productivity within culturally diverse teams, and of course, improve collaboration. We also looked at how this is particularly relevant when working remotely and communicating with colleagues online, as opposed to face-to-face.
